My name is Jennifer and I am the owner of Imagination Farm. I am the one you'll likely speak with first or see promoting the business at horse shows. I personally manage each web project. Common Terms for the World Wide Web:

  • Browser: The program that allows the user to view pages on the Web, usually Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Netscape's Navigator.

  • HTML: The programming language for Web pages. Consists of a variety of commands enclosed in < >, e.g. <title>Imagination Farm</title>.
  • Domain Name: This is a unique name that represents each computer or Web page on the Internet also referred to as a URL, e.g. www.imaginationfarm.com.
  • Search Engine: A Web site that allows a user to type in keywords and get a listing of Web pages that fit that description, (my favorite is google.com).
  • Link: One of the benefits of the Web is that with the click of the mouse on a keyword or graphic will launch your browser to another page within a Web site or on another computer on the Internet.
  • ISP (Internet Service Provider): This is the company that a person uses to access the Internet such as AOL, or can also be referred to the company that hosts your Web site.
  • FTP: A program for moving Files from one computer to another.
  • Download or Upload: To copy files from another computer to another via a network or using a modem. Typically thought of in terms of doing this to and from the Internet.
